| This has to be the best value in juggling videos out there at just $5 for nearly 15 minutes of sweet content.
For those of you who haven't seen him Wes is a shredder, the comfy 7 club run makes that clear but I liked the goofy creative side of his tricks and routines even more. To me his style is a mix of the Jason Garfield/Anthony Gatto really hard technical style with a healthy slice of Peapot silliness and a pinch of Larry V.
What's in this movie? Balls, clubs and rings but sadly no animals. Some burly site swaps, some tricky scissor catches. A spinning top routine that's short and sweet. A caterpillar impression on giant balls. 5 bananas. A kick up into an ankle balance on the same foot. A 5 club trick using backcrosses and flats... at the same time! And later 5 club flats into 5 club backcrosses and a bunch of other hard stuff.
From a technical point of view the video is passable, nothing brilliant but you can see all the tricks clearly and the editing is playful and fun. One of the songs used, Robyn's remake of Cobrastyle, is insanely infecteous.
There were a few tricks that made my head shake. He does an improved version of my hardest trick the Bennett like it was nothing. That made me sad but I guess it's progress for juggling. There's a great 6 ring finish, a couple of 11 9 7 5 3 1's or whatever they're called. There's lot's of body rolls with rings or clubs and more tricks than I can describe without getting tired of writing. Which is the point I'm at now. So check out the video, it's very good.
